All items are made by myself, Carla Horton. I do love cats so it's no surprise that most of what I make and sell has feline features but I like to make other things too. These tend to be various other animals and whimsical creatures such as the 'fun guys'.


I specialised in textiles, ceramics and animation when I studied art, and I graduated from university with a BA in film and animation. I mainly work with textiles, particularly wool, which I either knit, crochet or needle felt. I also dabble with jewellery making, hand sculpted from polymer clay.

The Sausage Cats brand name began in 2002 when this 'sausage cat' came into being. A fun and practical draught excluder, it was the start of all the other quirky but functional cat themed designs. 



He now resides in the shed, like all old Toms he's become grumpy and stinky. Although he still keeps a watchful eye over the garden!
Here's a little bit about me. The face behind Sausage Cats. (One of the few photos where I actually look some what normal. I don't photograph well, some sort of weird reaction when I see a camera causes me to pull the strangest expressions.)
I live in Stourbridge with my husband, 5 children, 2 dogs, chickens and ducks. We seem to spend a lot of time walking the dog, up hills mostly. I like to make things, sometimes it becomes an obsession which is good if you want a house full of cat 'things'.
Our crazy water obsessed dog. Half springer spaniel so it should have been expected. For every mile you can walk she'll run 15.

Our other dog, not sure what breed he is as he's a rescue. He's an expert squirrel hound!
